I was able to estimate the perimeter of Auggie's classroom by using addition.
It took me a couple tries to make it realistic with the numbers.
Next time I will make it make sense and also I will try add decimals .

I was able to find at least 2 words I have not used before in my acrostic poem I found it tricky because I needed to have the words make sense .

next time I will try to put much more words I have not used yet but I will need to make sure they make sense by using synonyms in my writing.

I was able to use the calculator in a correct manner. also I was able to identify my mistakes and make it correct.

Next time I will use my personal best and try to add every bit of it and not to take forever to solve each of it I think I could of done it better if I added up every point in the right place.

WALT: deliberately choose words to create an effect on the audience

In my speech I was able to choose the perfect persuasive words to put in my speech e.g I believe , I think, firstly , secondly and thirdly. also I was able to make my speech interesting with emotive and persuasive and hook my audience.  

 Next time I will try to have the same amount of persuasive and emotive words in each Q card.

WALT: understand passing on message is important so we understand why we celebrate.

In our inquiry we have been learning about celebrations we mite of forgotten. In our case we were doing Labour day.  

Ghost-Prediction

Walt: Iam learning to make prediction based on the cover and blurb of ghost by jason

I was able to find the information in the cover and predict what will happen and use the blurb to predict what it was about. It was a little bit tricky because I was to busy thinking about the name and not the pictures.

Next time I will try to predict what will happen next in a movie or a book . I will try not to just think of the name to predict what will happen and use the pictures.

Usain Bolt

WALT: locate and evaluate information about Usain Bolt on the internet.

I was bale to search for information about Usain Bolt I found it tricky because some of the facts I could not understand. also on each web site there was a different answer.

Next time I will try to pick the most accurate answer in all of the web sites.also I will add much more information for my text.

Matariki Celebration - Phases of the Moon

WALT accurately identify and organise the phases of the moon.

I was able to identify moon phases with only a little description.  I could identify the first quarter,
last quarter, the full moon and the new moon but the others were a little bit harder.

Next time I will try to look at the moon at night and name the moon, also I will try to remember all the names of the different moon phases and what they look like.

Multiplication

 Walt: Use a variety of multiplication strategies to solve problems.

                                       Reflection
I was able to use all the strategies I have learnt to answer all of the problems e.g pvp , place value, tidy numbers, and brackets. I used them by
1. learning my multiplication
2. putting my brackets in correct position to make my work easier to read.
 also I was able to make up my own problems.

Next time I will try to give myself a challenge when making my problem.
Also I will try my best to know all the strategies to all my problems
of by heart.

We were trying to find out the weird and wonderful ways that people celebrate.
I want to try to find celebrations that make more sense.

Birthdays Now And Then

I was learning to find out how people in 1967 and people in 2017 celebrated birthdays.  It was a little bit tricky because I could not remember what are the different ways they celebrate.

Birthday Celebrations

Walt : Identify and understand the different ways that birthdays are celebrated around the world.

In this we are learning how everyone in the world celebrate birthdays differently.   This was so much fun because we got to see all the crazy ways that people celebrate.

Bridge To Terabithia

WALT: I am learning to make a prediction based on the cover and blurb.

I was able to look at two different covers of the same story and find the all the things that are the same.  I found all the key words in the blurb to find out a prediction.


Next time I will try to find more information in the blurb to make it similar to the story .

Reflection

I was able to Use quotation marks at the beginning of my writing and use quotation marks at the end of my writing.

I new how to answer the questions correctly because I like to write and I use quotations marks a lot in my writing .

Next time I will Always use capital letter at the beginning of quotation marks punctuation in the popper place.

Anzac-Facts

I am working on trying to find the key information and learn about the Anzac. I found the most important information by skimming and scanning though all 6 paragraph because i was look for the key words. Next time I will be able to find any peace of writing and try to find the most important part in it.

Camp Merc

I have chosen this because I really enjoyed going to camp. 

Because all of the activity made us brave it was so much fun because I did thing that I thought I could not do

Statistics

Walt : display data on histogram, tally chart

Walt : interpret information from histograms and tally marks e.g. medium, mode, range, mean

I was able to put the name score information into a histogram and I used tally marks.I found this easy.

• here is some of the statistics I interpreted:
• the range for the first name score was 4-20
• the rage for the last name score was 3-21
• the rage for the full name score was 9-31
• the mode for the first name score was 8
• the mode for the last name score was 11
• the mode for the full name score was 22

I thought that the average/mean score was the hardest because I had to add all the scrabble scores up and then it divide it by 29.

I thought the medium score was easy because you had the first prat on the class scores then you tried to get the number in the middle.

I thought the mode was easy because all you had to do was find the number that showed up the most.

I thought this was easy because I could under stand the scrabble score

I was able to change some spelling mistakes because Jordan told me to.

Next time I will try my best to ask for feedback from my fellow class mates so I can improve in my writing and try to change some of my words to make them year 6 words. Also next time I will try to look for incorrect spelling not Jordan unless I need . If i'm not sure I will sound out the words I don't know and if i'm done I will ask some people in my class for feedback.  

Reading Clarification Sheet
